- Mandy Calvano, Owner, has resided in the Coachella Valley since 1987. She began her career in the home health care business working with and being mentored by her Grandmother Joan Walker of Health Concepts. Having worked with her grandmother for over 16 years, Mandy developed a passion for caring for her clients and her community. When her grandmother passed away, Mandy’s desire to continue to serve her community lead her to form Custom Care Solutions. Mandy is constantly educating herself to assure that the newest advances in home health care are provided to the clients that place their trust in her. She also serves on the board of ACT 1 and is an active member of the Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce.
- Misty Howell, Director of Operations, is a lifelong Coachella Valley resident. She has extensive experience in the medical field, as well as accounting and property management. With the knowledge she has obtained throughout the years, she has become a well-respected member of the community and has a passion for helping all those she comes in contact with. Misty is also a member of ACT 1 as well as an active member of the Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce.
- Dominick Calvano, Service and Community Consultant, has resided in the Coachella Valley since 2010. In home health care has been his career focus for several years. Dominick has a rich background in marketing and customer service.. He has a real passion for helping meet the needs of his clients and community. Dominick is currently on the board for ACT 1, and is serving as President of the Board of Directors, for Alzheimers Coachella Valley. This newly formed 501(c)(3), is offering services and programs to support caregivers and patients struggling with Alzheimer’s disease, and other types of dementia.
In home care providers can contribute so much to the quality of life for Alzheimer’s patients as well as anyone disabled or convalescing. Not only in utilizing skilled professional’s expertise in developing and monitoring, a specific plan of care, but sometimes just having a fresh new set of eyes on a situation that has become overwhelming for a family caregiver. There are many components to the patient’s plan of care. How much time is the family able to help? Does the family caregiver need training to effectively care for the patient?
